Meet our volunteer of the Year: Annette
She is one of the most creative, sweet, and compassionate people you’ll ever meet.
It’s always such a challenge to find just one person who steps up to so many helpful places in volunteer roles. We love all of our volunteers! Last year, we were navigating our newer TikTok page addition for more social media exposure, and all the socials combined became overwhelming for our Board, for as fun and creative as it should be. We were in need of help in a big way on Insta and here on F.B., but we also needed another intake coordinator as well. A lot of coordinating is just paperwork, collecting data, and making it presentable. We knew someone who would be perfect for both social media and intake coordinating because she was already doing it previously for an Arkansas shelter, but we didn’t think she would want to do both things. After all, going from 0-100 in volunteering is a lot to take in.
So last year we talked with our eager Annette about which role she could do and she just took over both. She never batted an eye. She also fosters and helps with van loading. We love everything about you, we are so happy to have you on our team for the last 6 years and we always enjoy content and growth that flows through you artistically on our social media. Thank you for everything you do, and your husband for being supportive of you doing this with us.

Featured Foster of the Month
Our featured foster animal is Rambo. Him and his siblings were part of our "Spay It Forward" initiative. Some of the animals on this property were signed over to our organization, while others weren't. Unfortunately, months later, Rambo was hit by a car and the owner decided to surrender him since he could not afford the medical care and the prognosis seemed guarded. We have some experience with dogs unable to walk and wanted to give him a chance with a Veterinary Chiropractor. Fast forward several months, Rambo is starting to apply a tiny bit of weight to his hind legs now and uses his wheels as well to get around. He is in specialty boarding where he gets his care routinely and complete chiropractic care. Without the help of our community donating to p4p, we wouldn’t have been able to save Rambo and his siblings and get him the care he needs.
